Cops on bikes...
mmmh...they should introduce this in NSW...raises cycling awareness and therefore makes the road safer...
(as motorists surely wouldn't dare to "nudge" or hurl abuse at a cycling cop)

NSW has had cycle cops for ages.
Brett Barnes, the guy who built a crap load of BMX and MtnX tracks around Sydney and further afield, and who was(is) also Australian Masters BMX and MtN X champ was one of the instructors. H euse to race Mtn X in his uniform.

Tell us - did the police-issue bike show any sign of illegal downhilling?
Did it have dirt on the tyres? What groupset are they running? Any cool upgrades/bling? SS?
i.e. the bike equivalent to this?

I saw 3 cops on mountain bikes (white/blue Giant 2009? Hard Tails I think) in Bankstown earlier this year.
Good to see they have class in their selection of brand. You need that kind of performance when your on the hunt for crims.
They could always book a skills session with AMBC....
