The "hawkeye's got stir crazy and needs to ride" ride
Well I'm starting to get itchy and scratchy and fidgety and ants in the pants and need to go for a ride that isn't all black stuff.
Trouble is, I'm under strict instructions from He Who Must Be Obeyed (aka the surgeon) that I'm not under any circumstances to fall off. And to be honest I don't really want to go through the last 6 months again either. So this restricts me to strictly non-technical, no-surprises (eg mid-corner sand drifts) trails. Been doing the Allambie pipeline easement and linking up with Bantry Bay fire road but want something other than the same ole out-and-back.
So I'm thinking Duck Holes (which I've ridden) and Centre Track (which I've not) for Saturday or Sunday afternoon next weekend. Whaddaya reckon? Does this fit the bill?
I'm thinking of opening this up to a family-friendly newbies ride once I get the location right.
Cheers,
hawkeye

the water bars and things wouldn't perimeter long be better for your safety?
having said that, duck and centre are my favourites!
how nice must it be for you feeling good enough to actually 'ride' again!
I was thinking of doing a slow version of DH+C+P+L on Sat or Sunday. You wanna join for all/half of that? As Blondie says, the P+L part would be easier not to fall off on (so long as you ride real slow).
... as I haven't ridden perimeter and long so have no idea what they're like.
Last time I rode Duck Holes, probably over a year ago, I thought it reasonably tame except for one loose steep descent that I walked. Has that changed?
What time were you thinking of doing the loop, Rob?
Just so there are no surprises I have a buddy who is keen to go for a ride on his newly-acquired Trance X1 - he's only been procrastinating about the purchase for 18 months so I want to get him riding while the fires of enthusiasm are still hot! And hawkeye junior will be joining us on his newly acquired Jekyll, if that's OK with you.
If that's too many people (and it's quite OK if that's the case - it's your ride I'm joining), let me know and I'll organise accordingly.
If you are going for a slow ride on Saturday afternoon I would probably join you.
Sunday weather isn't looking great anyway...
day is looking 'great' anymore but I need to try out my new bitz so I'm almost in a lot and my friend will follow, think either day, depends on how many raindrops I can dodge
