Brindabella Challenge Epic (Social) Ride
Hi,
I've been considering this for a while and was wondering if anybody else was interested or already going down to 'Bra for it?

Looks like a great fun intro to the area and there looks to be a lot going on that weekend so I'm pretty keen to head down and make a full weekend of it, plus the girlfriend's away so I'm allowed!
70k's a fair ride but the detail suggests some is on road and it's social rather than comp so you can take it at your own pace.
Let me know if you're going and if you've been to 'Bra before and know of any suitable accommodation I'd much appreciate a post.

Hi 9-lives. Me and some mates are going down early on that Sat for the opening of the Down Hill Track. Apparently it is arguably one of the best designed DH tracks in the world with lots of B and C lines for old buggers like me.
We will probably shuttle most of the day then hit up the new Stromlo single track after that. If my mate Justin takes his ute we may have room for a spare bike on the shuttles. You met Justin at the St Ives race the other weekend (ex pommy guy).
The social ride would be fun also, bloody hard work though, suit an XC bike I would think.
...but the body is a different matter, especially for a world of hurt! I'm dead keen but need to just see how I go on a night ride tonight and a bit of long distance practice this weekend. I'll see how many laps of the Dam I can get in before I bonk!
If I find some hidden reserves I'll do the social ride, otherwise I'll still go down and the downhill track sounds great, I'll post on the weekend and let you know and maybe try giving people a call.

It does look like a great ride linking up most of the good mtb areas in CNB.
As Shaneo said we will be there, been doing some mild training for the last three or so weeks.
We can chat tonight if your on the Terry Hills ride.

OK so I managed 4 laps of the dam yesterday and still felt pretty fresh, albeit with plenty of stops to refuel and stretch the back, so I'll give the challenge a go.
If you're going down for the weekend, fancy saying hello and have any notion of accommodation or would like to car-pool get in touch, my details are on my account page (e-mail/sms etc).

Yep guys its offical...the Brindabella Challenge Social Ride epic is now a nasty 100km long...thats about 50% increase on earlier figures...

Well its going to be a hot one in CNB this weekend, wish us luck. If I can summon the energy to get some pics i will. See you for a recovery ride next week.
