Yeah, ODI are very nice.
Although that said, a lot of people are using Jet Black and I have to say the freebies from the Mont feel nice... erm... off the bike (haven't put them on anything yet).
Can't beat lock ons... unless you can't get the damn things off and have to Dremel the tiny bolts ... or you're using carbon bars that lock ons are not recommended for.
I have some cane creek ODIs from CRC - lots of grip!
Tom
I use Sunline Half waffles. They wear quite quickly, but the grip you get is the best I've used.
I'm looking along the lines of the sponge/silicon type that take out the shock ?
I have some ritchey lock ons replacing my scott lock ons.
I ordered the WCS true grip ones which are said to be light and spongy but wear quickly - especially in the wet.
As it turned out they sent me the lockon ones. Same ish.
I got some Jetblack lock ons for subscribing to a magazine. Put them on last week and I like them better than the stnd Giant ones.
Ergon GX 1
Ergonomic, easy on the hands / ulnar nerve. $ 50 at CRC for the extra light ones.
Go the ergo's ! These grips with palm rests (mine are from jet black) are awesome. Releived laotof palm/wrist pain.
Not sure about the ergos looking at the shock resistant comfort will go late nite shopping & look around a bike shop suggested the Oury
ODI Rogue lock-ons.
Similar to Ourys - nice and wide and spongey. I love 'em.
Odi rufiian for me.
jet black grippos are a good cheap alternative but they do wear a lot quicker.
Ourys are a nice spongy grip but a little fat for mine.
same with the Odi Rogue
I've been using some of the eva type foam/gel grips on the XC bike for a while now. While I think some of the claims of shock absorption are over stated (and they look like crappy, cheap grips) they are a very, very comfortable grip, so much so that long mtb rides without gloves don't leave you with grip blister.
I tried the Oury didn't do much at yellowmundee on Sat , so i'm going the ODI rogues
I have a set of the first ones on the market, when they were cheap!
They've been excellent. Nice and tacky, even in the wet. Softish rubber, limited shock absorption as the rubber is not that thick. The knurled pattern is completely worn off one side, but they're still grippy under my Fox gloves. I would probably get them again.
