Mixed feelings
Just read this articel on bikeradar

Interesting mixed feelings. When I first read the article I thought 'good, at least they jailed the moron'..... then reading the comments, I began thinking that they were absolutely right. Attempted premeditated murder and only 3 years in jail. Scandalous.
I think my initial thoughts were based on the subconcious kmowledge that if it happened in Sydney, the moron wouldn't have gone to jail at all.....
Sounds like there are similar issues in the UK with 'celebrities' having fun by promoting agression towards cyclists and this is what happens. I wonder what Magda, Miranda and Carl's reaction would be.

Sounds like he had it coming.
While this guy is clearly not getting nearly enough of what he's had coming for years, one of the responses points to this article:

In this case, a former emergency department surgeon [!] stopped in front of a couple of cyclists, they hit is car. The reaction:
"the DA's office decided to charge him with six felony counts including assault with a deadly weapon, battery with serious bodily injury, reckless driving causing specified bodily injury, and mayhem."
Assault with a deadly weapon - Now THAT's more like it!
Obviously we have to wait and see if he gets what the sentence is - still not a good sign when the article goes on to say "He could receive a maximum sentence of up to five years in prison." But at least they're treating it like a serious assault, which it clearly is.
