This is absolute insanity:

German cyclist Guido Kunze set a new world record after crossing southern Australia by bicycle, covering 4,200 kilometres in seven days, 19 hours and 5 minutes

There's more here:

So that's 4200km in near enough 187 hours. Including stops it's 22km/h average!

Dunno about anyone else, but I need 8 hours a day sleep, especially when... let's say... one has spent 16 hours riding a bike! Eye-wink Assume he did that and spent the other 16 hours a day on the bike (therefore deduct 56 hours) - that's 32km/h average. Loonacy - however you slice and dice the rest possibilities!

Says here he had an Edge 705:

I'd really like to see this dude's Garmin Connect page Eye-wink

I wonder how many litres of fluid he consumed!

Don't forget the guys who compite in these adventure races where for 5 or 6 days they ride, run, paddle etc with barely spleeping! They probably sleep 1 or 2 hrs a day and eat while walking all the time appart from 1 hot meal a day. Or the elite units in the army where they go for days without much food or shelter and under duress and no sleeping... I had a friend who was in one and he said that in training they used to sleep 52 hs a week, 4 from Monday to Friday and 48hs when back at home during the week end!!! Smiling

In any case i need 9-10 hours a day to be totally fresh. hey i am still a baby in some things Smiling
