There is a dirt/gravel fire track that starts behind the hospital at Nelsons Bay near the RSL. A short run up to the water tower to get your heart rate up and then another trail - It goes forever - not challenging (unless you have small block 8's like me then staying upright on gravel was fun) but a good long ride with some wildlife ( roo's) and you feel like your in the middle of nowhere.
Thanks mate ill try check it out, sounds like fun.
Maybe i should just go stockton
Bikely shows a couple of MTB routes in Nelson bay too
Stockton Beach is worth a look. If you go on at Anna Bay any old vehicle will do[1]
[1] It's almost like a sealed road that end, least was last time I was there.
If your driving on Stockton - the Lavis lane entry ( near Williamtown) I don't recomend over 25 degrees temp ( grey sand gets very dry and goes into a pwdr) and esp if your in a softroader - its quicksand in there lots of traffic and if you slow down on a narrow track to avoid another 4WD then hope you have recovery straps handy - Anna Bay end is easier especially from headland entry - Although we helped a bogged rental Nissan Patrol there once - he was right once we locked his hubs i.e. engaged 4WD
I think Jonathon is looking to ride his bike on some trails, not drive a 4wd on the beach
I was just joking around, i could never take my bike to stockton, motorbike on the other hand
just got back from nelsons bay and i didnt end up taking my bike, what a mistake! Along the way i did go past ourimbah thou and WoW!! I have never seen trails like this in my life, driving past i was salivating at all theses trails they looked unreal!
The tracks at Ourimbah can be summed up in one word: flow!
