cool, i have to warn im new to the oxford falls trails, new to nobmob, and probably doubly unfit then usual after a ridiculously huge new years! but, apart from that see u there at 4 ill be driving a white mitsubishi verada, my num is 0421796499...
good day alex and ditty,
i'll give it a go as well. also new to oxford falls and nobmob. my number is 0422351499
just out of curiosity, how long is the ride (distance and time?)
cya tomorrow alvo
Do dramas mate, I have been there many times - it is an excellent ride. I think it's the 2nd best in Sydney. Plenty of mix to it - single trail, fire trail, slow techical, fast downhill. I will be happy to play tour barbie. Should take around 2 to 2.5 hours. I will be in a blue Mazda2.
and i drive a grey mazda6
what part of oxford falls are you planning on riding? ive only been round twice and got a little lost on one occasion! im a competent rider but need showing around the area
I would ride the main loop, as I call it. Plus do the cool downhill bit at the start near the carpark, and the "ride to nowhere" (which was only shown to me recently, interestingly enough). Should take between 2 to 2.5 hours. Sorry, but I don't know what all the other parts are called, but I have been out there many times.
im happy to do whatever, would quite like to see as much as poss, hopefully finishing with a bit of downhill action? but im easy..wouldnt mind seeing this lizard rock ive heard so much about either
Okay, we can do that at the start, as it is near the downhill technical bit I was thinking about. It is pretty hairy. You will not believe that some freaks actually ride/jump/die off this. But it is certainly possible. But I will leave the heroics to you champ!
oh no i cant do that stuff! just wanted to see it if its on the way!, but a less death defying downhill would suit me more if there is one?...
I'd like to see the landing area of the Lizard Rock drop covered to a depth of about about 1m with foam squares and stuff (like they use to teach acrobats)... then would do it
Erm... OK - maybe 2-3m deep would be better
Yeah, foam cubes are used by trick MotoX riders to learn backflips and double backsflips. No sense in landing on your head first time, right?
The question is, Rob, would you still ride off it with foam cubes at the bottom? I might jump off it without a bike. But with a bike? I dunno.
Sure thing - go get some cubes and lets have fun
Rob...
... who seems confident his bluff is not going to be called
Getting to Lizard Rock today proved easy enough, but to no-one's surprise, there were no stunt-rider foam blocks at the bottom of the drop-off. Oh well. This idea will need to go onto the back burner for now.
In fact, an extension / renovation to the wooden ramp on the largest drop-off seems to have been completed recently. Busy little beavers. It even looks theoretically feasible to ride onto it, despite the 3 metre drop onto it. But at least to me, this would only happen after some dutch courage had been located (read 'consumed').
Rob, you can remain relieved, at least for now mate.
the first section was tougher than i'm used to but it's all relative so next time. loved the downhill fire trail and some of the single tracks.
thanks again
yah cheerz again too ditty was excellent tour!
