hey trev its you and me for the time being do u mind if i change the time to an 8:00 start? Just so we miss that mid-day heat.

hawkeye's picture

8am start is a smart move. Will talk with Josh tonight about him joining you.

Trev's picture

even earlier if you want.

Scottboy's picture

how many km's are you looking at? roughly

Rob's picture

By the look of their route?

Jonathan's picture

Not really sure anywhere around the 20km, Where doing a fair portion of cascades along with the single track up to ryland so my guess is +, - 20km? Should be a fun ride.

And im also thinking of moving down to a 7:00am start. I think its gonna be a hot day

jono

Trev's picture

jacojoco's picture

This ride sounds good. I will ride across from Belrose and meet you there. I just need to confirm I dont have other things on this weekend before I can committ. I will text if I cant make it on the day. Smiling

jacojoco's picture

I need to be back at home before 9am. Thus I can make this ride, but I may have to disappear early at some point to give me enought time to get back to Belrose in time. Hopefully I can hang around for the whole ride.

christine's picture

you out there, so say hello!
... I have grand plans of a solo cascades potter but from the Belrose end on Saturday - depending on how the rest of this week goes - have to start training for this Sydney 24hr Roid Team I seem to be on at some time... Smiling

Jonathan's picture

If i get us lost maybe ull be able to give us directions Smiling

Logan's picture

Am riding up and getting the train from Chatty, so if I am 5 mins late just bear with me. Going to Pymble station so it shouldnt take me to long to get to Acorns.

Jonathan's picture

If ur running late just give me a call so we dont leave without you Smiling

Pierre's picture

I will be there , long time since I have been in the area. P

Trev's picture

Jono, wont be able to make it. see you on the next one. Have a good ride.

Jonathan's picture

No problem will catch u on the next one and i also might be under a time constraint just not sure what time i have to be back. And by the way has anyone ridden this route before?

Jono

jacojoco's picture

Jono, I know all the tracks around (4 Gates) Cascades, Cambourne, Quarry, Ridge, etc between St Ives (Acron) and Belrose. But I dont know my way around behind the showground.

Pierre's picture

18.2 Km
2H
456 m up

Jonathan's picture

Only 18.2km?

hawkeye's picture

My young bloke could easily have managed that... although we had some other challenges (tummy bug) so it was just as well we didn't sign on and mess you around with a last-minute pull-out.

We'll keep an eye out for the next one. My hand should be good in another two to three weeks or so.

jacojoco's picture

I did 22 km's with my diversions. I thought it was a great ride. I really enjoyed the back of St Ives showground. I must have jarred my wrist (compounding Wed's injury) as last night I couldnt twist my arm. I have just spent 5 hours at Mona Vale hospital getting x-ray and cti, and they recommended mri (which they dont have). Looks like rest for next 2 weeks. See you next time!

Jonathan's picture

I probably did around 20km at the end riding to and from home but wow...after an early morning ride, a day of watersking, a night at the city and another 5am morning of fishing gets u preitty tired Sticking out tongue

I was wondering where hawkeye jr was? But hopefully next ride i post (about a week or so) you guys will be able to show me around ur turf (the dam) been aching to get a ride there. And hopefully ill have my brakes sorted out aswell Laughing out loud And jacojoco theres only one word for that "dedication" lol, im sure it was all worth it.

Thanks again everyone for an awesome ride! And hope to see both john's back on there bikes really soon.

Jono

hawkeye's picture

was put off a bit the distance I told him (25km) and the reports of hills I received from from jaco on the bus to work, so didn't sign up. As it turns out I was up all night with a tummy bug Friday night Sat morning and have been laid low the remainder of the weekend, so he had no transport.

I won't do the Dam in the next few weekends as my hand isn't up to it yet (and probably not my head either, after my shoulder dislocation on an easy part of the trail last year) but Josh can show you around.
