Details:

My semi regular Saturday morning training Ride - Oaks up plus detour and then back down.

This is a long and steady training ride it is not a smash fest but definately a hard ride it is non stop and not a social outing.

Starting at Glenbrook at 5.30am sharp I head up the Oaks then from Woodford I head further up the mountain for some sweet single track riding and then back to Woodford and down the Oaks. Its a good 4 and a bit hours in the saddle without a break if you cant ride for that amount of time without a stop then this ride is not for you.

I dont know the distance of the ride but estimate it is somwhere around the 75km mark so great training for a 100km event.

This ride is generally on most Saturdays the only time I dont do it is if there is a race on the Sunday.

.....When i am a big boy ....
I have a Stromlo training ride Saturday Morning for three hours , which in reality is a training ride to keep up with most of you fit buggers out there
I quite like the Oaks ride and as i am attempting the Husky Enduro in a few weeks i will try to make the effort ......then just need to work on skill ....

This ride is much better than the standard Oaks ride after doing this you will never want to do a standard Oaks up and back again.

Wayne if you come along don’t worry as I will ride to your pace I do enough riding that the occasional slower paced outing doesn’t bother me at all.

I will look at the following week as i need to up the k's and an early sat would work well

Doing the 4hr on Sunday next week so no silly long rides the day before.

Next one will be the following Saturday.

but that 5.30am start doesn't. I'm still getting over Xmas and really don't think I could drag my sorry arse all the way from Manly for that time of the morning. Even for the first real ride of the year.

But where is this single track from Woodford? I usually just head on up Ingar, to tack on Andos and back down The Oaks but would rather be riding the sweet sniggle any day of the week. So any clues, directions would be great.

PS HTFU? I geddit Eye-wink

The sniggle is further up the mountains about a 15 minute ride you really need to be shown as its a bit hidden.

I now know how long this ride is thanks to Jay we clocked up 72km which makes me think I will have to add a few more loops up at Hazelbrook to bring it up to a 75km total.

I think it was 4hr 42mins at Jays pace he did well and we got back to Glenbrook just before the heat of the day really started to kick in.

Good warm up for the four hour next week.
