Hi all,

Continuing with the current fashionable night rides I thought I should post one for Tuesday night 6th hitting the trails at 7:30pm.

There are showers forecast but i am ok to ride if it is light or patchy. Anyway it will no doubt be cloudy so lights will probably be be required, no moon in other words.

Can ride either the long track to the look out (22Km) or duckponds/center track (12Km) but will meet at Terrey Hills shops 7pm for 7:30 ride off.

If you havent done a night ride, its good fun and we ride the fire trails.
Dont be too scared about not having lights like electric sunshine as most of the respectable brands are adequate when it comes down to it. Make sure the batteries are fresh and up to a 2 hour ride.

I cant come tonight as my bike is still out of action. I am still waiting on my new rear mech to be sent from an online store. Can you imagine the local bike store quoted me $150 for a rear derailler and i got one sent from England for $90!

I don't know if i will get the rear derailler in time for a play this weekend Sad

Gazza, Despite what I have done I couldn't condone no lights cos that would not set a good example Smiling and if you were separated for some inconceivable reason you would probably want to have lights.
It is light for half of the ride and the moon is near full so there is some natural light.
Stuart hasnt said yes or no.....if he were there his mega lights can provide good light.
It's your call.

well, as usual i had a ball last night and it turned out that it was quite a fast ride - I shall be speeding up by the time Rob and Evan return...well, i can dream on!
Hope you are ok Stuart...Tien, he had a great stack - right by the tree he had just warned us about - he ended up doing a 360! lucky there was only one cut on his arm and a damaged head light...which still worked!

just a little stiff and sore but otherwise OK. Elbow wasn't as bad as it looked so I won't be posting any pics, looks really lame compared to Matts actually.

Atleast I learnt that my helmet light mounting brackets need to be the weakest point. Lucky too because I was going to make aluminium brackets for version 2. That won't be happening now. You guys would have been pulling the bracket out of my head instead of just helping get my bike off me.

Tien, it was a goody. Pity you didn't see it, I showed everyone how to go OTB and use your body to stop your bike getting scratched.

Garry thanks for the trail fix / find. New bolts will be in my hot little hands tomorrow.

Cheers all and thanks for the tow home. I really needed a the harder hit out.

I snuck in a one-way ride of Cascades (in at Wyatt- out at Davidson) last Sunday with my 12-year-old boy, Nic.
The knee held up fairly good. Still not 100% on the twist though.
Ill watch the rides put up this weekend and weigh up my options.
I'm away the following weekend for a water skiing weekend at Glenbawn dam out of Scone; I have never skied before so want to make sure the knee is ready.

Catch Ya very soon

fall off the ski. Seriously mate haven't you heard you can't teach an old.... biker new tricks.

Hope you stay in the boat and off the ski, I'm hanging out for our training day!!

Caro's picture

Oh no! Don't go on the water ski! I am sure a beer in the boat is much more fun! Or maybe go bungee jumping instead Smiling.
And I was so looking forward to the traing day!!!
All the best!
