Dirtworks: Please join Team NobMob and 'Crank for a Cure!'

Each year, many riders go through the stresses and strains of training for and
racing in the Dirtworks 100. As hard as times may get in the saddle, nothing on
a bike compares to the pain and anguish that patients and their families face
when dealing with Cancer.

Most of our friends in the NobMob (http://nobmob.com/) and Erina Bikeworx
(http://www.bikeworx.com.au/) families will have been affected by this awful
disease, and unfortunately Cancer has pointed it's ugly finger at my family
over the past few years.

My Father in Law, Bob, has faced drastic surgery and heavy doses of Chemotherapy in
2009 to destroy a rare form of abdominal cancer. My Wife, Rebecca, has been dealing with
a rare form of Melanoma for 4 years now - a disease that has claimed her left
eye and has now spread to her liver where it is now inoperable. She has been
fighting through invasive Chemo treatments every 3 weeks and is determined to
overcome this hurdle. Both are caring, loving, strong-willed, hard-working and totally undeserving of what has happened to them - but no-one deserves to face this horrible affliction.

If you want to be responsible for helping to find a cure and making the word
Cancer a distant memory, please join me in raising funds for the NSW Cancer
Council.

How you can help:
- If you're riding in the Dirtworks, go to the Mycause website
( http://www.mycause.com.au/Dirtworks2010Crankinfo...) please join the Team: NobMob/Erina Bikeworx http://www.mycause.com.au/mycause/raise_money/ev...
(password: nobmob), and seek sponsorship from family and friends by forwarding them an e-mail invitation. Maybe suggest performance based
donations: extra $2 for breaking 6 hours, etc? Imagine the motivation you will
get when training or racing, knowing that your efforts will be recognised by not
just your riding mates, but also your family, friends and a very worthwhile
cause!
- If you're a friend, family member or colleague, please get behind these
riders and make a tax-deductible donation. Also, why not volunteer to help out
at the Dirtworks on race day (http://www.maxadventure.com.au/100kmclassic/nsw/...)?

Thankyou for your efforts,

Great start: $1065 in just over a day! $2000 looks very achievable!

Also, I put my wife Rebecca down as a team member to test the page even though she is a race volunteer for the DW. She has received some hefty donations and being the wonderful woman she is, she now feels obligated to ride too. If anyone has a 50k entry for sale, please let me know, as she is pretty pumped to have a ride now too.

$3073 raised by NobMob! What a fantastic effort so far! With a few fundraisers coming up at my High School, the initial $2000 target will be smashed.

Thanks to the NobMobbers who've joined the team and also those who've made donations - your generosity is very much appreciated.

Remember, there's still plenty of time for others to sign up...... now time to get some training in.
