BUGGER!
just before the start i used a screw on type track pump to check my pressure and concequently unscrewed my valve out when taking it off, after a bit of a panic and a borrow of another pump i got the tyre up but had only hand tightened the valve. it was all done in a panic and knew this might be trouble later on.
got a good start, 4th into the single track behind Zoe King, passed Zoe after a while and settled into third place, quite happy to stay there for a while and see how things worked out later. got to the bottom of the roller coaster on the first lap( about 15 mins racing so far) and tyre felt very squishy!, i'd already had a telling off from Wazza about leaving my tube etc at home and racing without any back up tools, tubes etc!
by now i'd pulled over and watched as my 3rd place was well lost and all the other riders passed me! "FOOL!" i thought! Dylan, stopped and Graciously handed me his tube etc and told me to put a tube in and finish the race to gain a few points at least and still have a crack at the series.
i quickly put the tube in and got his air cannister out only to realise there was no adapter for the air!!!! NOOOOOO!!!!!
Dylan hadn't counted on me being an absolute moron and thought i would have had, at least a pump on me! unfortunatley my pockets were bare and so was spirit by then! i walked back to the start feeling sorry for myself but at least i've learned a lesson to double check my bike ( i'd only ridden it once since the last round) and double check my kit when leaving the house!
Well done to everyone else, hope you had better fun than i did!!!!

... 'tis all in the preparation. Upside: It was only a club level race. You won't do that again, eh!
