Back Yamma Bigfoot 2010
Corner of Back Yamma Road and Parkes Eugowra Road, Eugowra NSW 2806. This is around 25km South of Parkes.
The Back Yamma Bigfoot (www.backyammabigfoot.com.au) is a new event for 2010 hosted by the Central West Off Road Bicycle Club (CWORBC). This 25/50/100km mountain bike race will be held in the Back Yamma State Forest near Parkes and Forbes in the Central West of NSW (map). Back Yamma is full of great fun single track and not too many big hills, making for a fast and fun ride.
The course has been designed to cater to beginners, intermediate and advanced riders. Beginners can get a taste of the action in the “Little Foot” (25km option), while intermediate and advanced riders can push a little harder and take in some of the more technical aspects of the single track in the “Big Foot” (50km option). The bigfoot will include around 25km of single track. The ultimate option is 'Two Big Feet', the 100km race. This will be two laps of the bigfoot.
The track is pretty flat and fast. It is likely this will be your fastest 50km or 100km race ever. Have a look at the course map and elevation profile now on the website.
Entries will open Friday 28th of May.

2 laps of the 50 should encourage a few city folk to venture out.
Hey Chris
Always interested in new enduro events. My family likes to get away for a long weekend at these events and are always keen on somewhere new.
Only drawbacks are the proximity to the Angry Doctor (5th Sept) and the lack of a 100k option. As Pivot said above, any chance of a 2 lap or extended track to make it up to 100km ? It's a long way to go for a 50km race.

Hi Guys,
I'll have a chat with the other guys on the organising team. One thing we did consider is that people might not like the option of doing 2 laps of a 50km loop. Though if people are interested in that option i don't see why we could n't do that.
Thanks for the feedback guys.
The 100km option 'Two Big Feet' is now confirmed. This will be a fast race. The track is pretty flat and very fast. Map and elevation profile now available on the website.
Sounds good Chris
The family is keen so it looks like I'll be signing up.

Great news.
Entries are set to open Friday the 28th of May. Prices are very reasonable and MTBA members receive a $15 discount.
Entries have now opened and we've added some tourist information for those people considering making a weekend of it. Some highlights in the area include, the Parkes radio telescope (THe Dish), Orange Wineries (around 30 in total), and the Western Plains Zoo.
Hope to see you out here.
Signed up and paid. Looking forward to it - now I need to get fit!
Good on you Hawkeye
I've signed up for the 100. Hopefully see you down there.

Just about to start my last long training ride (60km) - looking forward to this, my first race in almost 2 years.
I wish I can join you on this one, but off for a long one
Hey Hawkeye
Which one are you doing ? I'm in the 100.... hopefully see you there

I thought seriously about upgrading to the hundred, but if I assess myself honestly I haven't been at this endurance training/racing thing for anywhere near long enough. I'm still very much at the bottom of the learning curve!
Not so long ago I could barely complete a lap of Manly Dam without lower back pain cutting the fun short. So I'm chuffed to have been able to complete 60km this afternoon from my place to DH+C+P+L and back and come off my hardtail feeling pretty bloody good!
Looking forward to catching up with you out there, mate.
of height difference along the whole 50km track according to the organiser so despite having trained like a person who's been crook for 6 weeks I'm still gunna give the ton a go..It's 2 laps of a 50k circuit so you can always pike halfway..
