Details:

I haven't been up to Terrey Hills before so going to have a look around. I know that this is mainly fire-trail but I am kind of keen to cruise around for a while, rack up some kms and try to get the fitness up a bit. Maybe even cross the road to hook up with Cascades. Something like this ride here which sounds roughly like this route here.

If anyone is keen but would prefer a different time, I am flexible but do not want to make it too much earlier (heat of the day) or too much later (I don't have lights). Otherwise, I will be out on my own not taking it too hard.

You'll struggle to do all three in three hours. Cascades is worth an afternoon on its own - there is a lot of elevation change.

I'd suggest Duck Holes + Centre loop leading into Perimeter and Long out-and-back would do you about 3 hours with stops to admire views, suck on gels, and general chitchat.

I'd like to come and bring hawkeye junior but I need to negotiate vehicle usage with the missus as she's already bagsed it for a function in the arvo on Sat. Will let you know how I go.

They've recently been bulldozed and covered in sand they are horrible to ride, no fun at all. On the plus side they now rival Bondi for the best beach in Sydney. Wait till we've had some rains before heading out that way. Cascades however is in great shape!

And your dreaming with 3 hours to do the suggested route. I do that ride regularly, it's tough, real tough. Great training for enduros like Dirtworks. But a 3 hour walk in the park it ain't.

It's going to be hot tomorrow so take plenty of water. There is a tap on Booralie just after you come out of the single track. I'll be heading out at the crack of dawn to miss the heat tomorrow.

Happy trails

Thanks for the feedback, I will bring my board and hope for some surf! It was more of a "do something within that area for around 3 hours" than try to cover all of that. I haven't been up there before but it looked like there were a number of ways to links things up, given that, as you say about Long & Perimeter, we will come across some of the tracks that do not look too inviting, so am just keen to have a cruise around whatever links up and looks like a bit of fun.

Hope to see you there. Hawkeye, if it fits better to shuffle the time a little, happy to fit in.

Looks like Cascades might be a better bet will but I'll be at the shops at 2 PM in a white Honda CRV anyway. Either drive over the Cascades or hopefully ride over, maybe someone knows more about this than me....which is not too hard.

Missus has just taken the car and wont be back until 4-ish. Sad

On the upside, hawkeye junior's cricket team just won their local division 2 final this morning. Cool
