Details:

I'd like to ride Wiseman's GNR but not overly keen on doing it solo for safety reasons.
I'm looking to do about 60 - 80 km, or 4 - 6 hours. Minimal stops along the way apart from nutrition break at half way point.
Meet at the ferry, up Devine's Hill, out past Clare's bridge for x km or hours, and then return via Shepherds gully.

This is a training and familiarisation ride for the upcoming DirtWorks. I'd like to push myself quite hard and work on managing hydration/energy levels. Pace I'm aiming for is something like 60km in about 4 1/2 hrs.

Then followed by a cool drink and bite to eat at the pub afterwards Smiling

Great ride today guys. Below is the profile and it looks like we were about 800 meters from meeting back up with Terry. Oh well, gave us a few extra kms Smiling. I'm feeling much better now and I think it will be best for me to just stick to bananas.

Yeah great riding Smiling Loved the Shepherd's Gully descent, though I can see that being pretty dangerous on tired legs.

Think I need to drink more water whilst riding though as I was almost 2kg lighter when I got home, and body water content down from 49% to 40%. Thankfully it wasn't a hot day.

@Loki... do you have some fancy device that measures body water content? One of those body analysis scales or something?

P.S. Nice looking ride - good work Smiling

yeah a set of bathroom scales.
Couldn't be bothered walking upstairs to read exactly what they call it!

Seems to give me relatively accurate results as to whether I've been drinking enough or not, and normal for me on these scales is around 48 - 50%.
Another example of dehydration shown from these is if I've been drinking alcohol at night - the next morning the reading will be low 40's.

Don't forget to add the burger, chips and beer at the pub post ride Eye-wink

I just emptied the water I had left and probably only drank 2.3 litres. No wonder I was cramping at the end.

Keen to do this ride or similar on Saturday with all the same intentions. Any other like minded starters ?

Ha ha saw the post and recognised the description!
I would have been keen but have other plans for Saturday. I think Sunday is booked out too Sad

It's a good ride - have fun!

Cheers,
Jon
