Super Duper Awesome Manly Dam fun!
I'm riding the dam tomorrow for minimum of 5 hours. I will try to keep my Heart rate under 80% for most of it like i did on Monday.
This will entail the up parts to be done slowly and the rest to be reasonably quick.
I may go round and round and round ( like Monday) or i may shoot off and do pipeline as well.
I will not be using a backpack so will be refilling my bottle at the Lab car park approximately every hour.
All are welcome to join in, tag along, throw tomatoes etc . Average speed will be 16 - 17 km/h approx = 36 minute laps so not fast.
I'll be wearing a blue Pivot shirt and riding a blue Pivot. Starting time around 9am ...
See you there, Darren.

I am riding dam tomorrow maximum of 1 hour.

Up parts to be done super slowly and the rest to be done slowly
I may not go completely round or may be I will
I will be using a backback as I need more than 1 bottle of water per lap
All are welcome to join in as long as you don't overtake me!
Average speed will be 12km/h = 56 minutes (I think) so prettyfast!
Will rest for 5 minutes at top of heartbreak hill
I will be wearing an old T shirt and riding a bike
Starting time around 1 hour after I wake up
Might see you there, or not
I also will be riding my bike
Sounds like fun and sounds very much like the ride I was trying to do today but each time I went around I'd sidetrack over to the Bantry Bay downhill and then the pipeline. Where you planning on starting from, Hydro or School?
I'll be on my bike too - Black 575
Top - blue
Helmet - black
Star sign - Virgo
PM me your mobile so I can let you know if you need to wait for me or not
Phil
I'll just have to work out where to sit to throw the tomatoes.
Needs to be a new spot each lap just to keep it interesting.
Very amusing! LOL
I reckon a good spot for tommy throwing would be the 19th hole on lap one,
Ninja somewhere on the Allambie DH section on lap 2
An Ambush on the DH down to the creek on lap 3
A Tree assault at the rock steps on lap 4
Somewhere about 3/4 up Heartbreak, and blatently obvious on the track on lap 5.
Damn ,why am I saying this out loud.... hahahaah
Have a good ride
This thread has brought a smile... or perhaps it is the drinks I had earlier
Maybe I'll show up at 10:15-ish and join you on a few laps. Or perhaps the drinks I had earlier will prevent that from happening
hence tomatoes.
hardtail commuter has a tacoed front hoop and needs to go to the insurers for repair. Dually has a busted master cylinder.
Idea: move knobblies onto hardtail until new brake arrives, then swap back and take hardtail to insurer!
100 km's of the dam today, one lap being longer and including the scout hall and firetrail out the back then pipeline.
Thanks to Phil for keeping the first 60 interesting. And thanks to Becky from Batemans Bay cycles for letting me follow for the last two laps. 85-90 % HR for the last hour was difficult but a great way to finish up a big day. This lady is a strong rider!
I didn't see any tomatoes but i did have to stop on the single for a massive blue tongue lizard. He was quite happy sitting there for about 2 minutes until he got the hint that i wanted to get past .
Darren.
Was a fun 60 for me. Shame about the stack of mine bruising my thumb like it did. I would've carried on for sure. Was interesting seeing your nutrition strategy, it's certainly got me thinking. Clearly I was woefully unprepared. Same time next week?
