Mooney Mooney (morning session)
Turn left into Karool Road off the Pacific Highway. You will need to turn off the F3 onto the Pacific Highway either before or after the Mooney Mooney bridge. There is no direct access. Stay on Karool Rd until you get to the parking area at the entry gate. Watch out for sea monsters!
Anyone up for another great ride at Mooney Mooney at 10:00 a.m? Me and a couple of mates will be there Easter Saturday for a good hit out. It is an excellent ride with a good mix of single trail, up hills, slow and technical downhills. The trail review can be found here:

I will be there no matter what the weather. So what's your excuse? Hope to see as many of you there as possible. Depending on the crowd, we can take our time if need be. Call my mobi on 0438 885 410 with lateness.
Tally ho!
Were you there and have a story to tell?

cool Liam, see you there.
Im in...cya on saturday morning!
Where *is* everyone this weekend? I'll be there unless the weather gets significantly worse. No sleeping in this time!
due to the weather i think i will give this one a miss! sorry i hope you get this before you go!
Did you even go? I checked the radar and saw it didn't look to be raining much North of Sydney so maybe it was OK?
I can't imagine Mooney is very nice in the wet, although you did it that way the other week too? Do I remember reading about leeches and all?
yah i bailed totally on riding today- interested to hear how it was!
We went. Fun was had. (Whee! Downhills!) I caught 7 leeches. (Blech! Leeches!) I want to go again in the dry. (Blech! Mud!)
Just after I left home and got to the south side of the Harbour Bridge, it started to rain. Hard. Difficult-to-drive-in hard. I got a bit nervous because, well, the weather radar had been almost completely clear when I checked it five minutes before leaving. This continued along the freeway - enough that I elected to drive at 80km/h in a 110km/h zone.
The rain settled around the time that I arrived and we wound up with a group of six-ish. So it wasn't even the quiet social occasion that I was expecting.
I'll put a MotionBased trail up here as soon as I unpack the car. (Blech! Mud! And probably lingering leeches!)
Oh, and the Trance frame has a lot of little nooks and crannies that catch sticks which subsequently drag on the tires. It'll be getting a good hose down and then an evening with some sticky tape...
Afterthought: it's a really different terrain style to most of what I've seen in Sydney. Wet, muddy, ground covered in foliage, wide singletrack but very narrow lines in parts. Very unlike, say, the singletrack in RNP which is very dry, dusty, clean and cut neatly (but narrowly) through forest. Lots of slippery trees and slippery drifty mud.

Just unpacked the car. More blech!
No, this was not a soft p0rn video. But the trail on Saturday was is good condition, despite the rain - just pretty muddy in places. Have to say, I STILL can't wait to get to this track again when it is dry. It will be awesome. But I am beginning to wonder if this will ever happen!
Thanks to everyone for turning up, pushing hard along the trails, putting up with the mud and rain, and surviving more of those deadly leech attacks. Man, those things are determined little critters. I think we were all just glad they decided to take blood from your leg, rather than from some more, um, tender places.
The bike maintenance worked out easier with a trip to the car wash afterwards. The beast now needs a full service before this coming Saturday.
See you on the trails soon!
