Re: This ride meeting:
The usual @ Terrey Hills

Nice stuff today. After a dull looking start the sun came out and things were looking great. We could have gone under 2 hours despite the tiredness of yesterday if it weren't for...

1. Logan crying about his legs Eye-wink

2. Buck and Tien both choosing the same line on the same fire trail. I mean, who crashes on a firetrail... at Terrey Hills!? Eye-wink

As I said on Trev's thread...

I'm sure someone will tell the story better than I can. All I know is that there was a loud bang from behind and I thought, "That doesn't sound good!" Pulled up pretty quick and looked round to see Buck in the bushes to the left (right side as we were riding) and Tien lying in a heap in the centre of the trail. Ouch!

P.S. Clearly I'm joking about the 'Who crashes at...' title. Anyone can crash anywhere as this goes to show. Touch wood and all that!

I've seen Buck and Tien crash at Terey Hills before. What are the chances?

Be careful what you joke about, Tien was in bad shape afterwards and had to go to hospital afterwards for observation, not sure if he is out by now...Should be

Yes a very unfortunate accident today. The last time Tien and I tangled handlebars was going uphill. It only resulted in embarrassment!

This time we were screaming downhill. Mostly my fault unfortunately. I went to the right hand side of the trail with what I though was enough room to pass Tien. However at the same time Tien went right too....... I came off and rolled a bit I think. Next thing I remember was Logan untangling me from my bike. Must have crashed pretty hard as the front tyre had rolled off the rim completely. Upon closer inspection tonight both front and rear wheels have a massive wobble in them. Probably close to 1cm off true.

Tien was looking in worse shape though and had lost consciousness. We put him in the recovery position and called the ambos. Tien came to while we were still on the phone and was coherent enough to talk to the operator. The ambos turned up shortly after and took over from there. He had a smashed helmet and some minor grazes on his arm. He was taken to hospital for some scans and observation. He was in good spirits though.

Get better soon mate. Apologies for the badly timed passing manouvre.

And once again. It's handy to do a first aid course and carry a first aid kit......just in case.

Tien, I hope all is well and you make a speedy recovery.

Ouch, doesnt sound good calling the ambos out. Get well soon tien! Let's hope all that results is a good story for the grand kids.

I was at the back of the group and saw the full effect.

Basically both took the same line on the right hand side, Tien went over the bars and travelled about a metre from where the crashed landed and buck had the bike land on top of him. My first reaction was to sort Buck out from the tangled mess of a bike and I got to Tien shortly after and he was breathing really heavily and out cold. Called the ambo's immediately and Tien would of been out for about 2 mins all up.

At one point he didnt know which way he had been riding on the trail.

Ambo's did a great job and they were quick to the scence as well.

Yes I will admit I was pretty knackered, struggled with a lack of food.

So does that mean you won't be swapping your new road wheelset for 2 rolls of duct tape? Sticking out tongue

Sheesh, good to hear that you are now ok... it's never a good thing when someone loses consciousness, especially after a bike accident!

Hope you mend up quickly mate.

Get well soon.

His bike is actually still at my place Laughing out loud
I took it home for him.

I can see some scratches on the Elixir CRs. Apart from that the bike looks absolutely fine!
