People often ask about the best deal for lights and I've just noticed this on today's CBO mailing:

700lm for $299 (US) looks nice:

Nope, I have no affiliation or anything with this, just like their gear.

These seem to be the latest version of the Magicshine lights that sop many of us have bought off Dealextreme or other websites http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.36018 Would be interesting to check them out as once againthe value for money looks amazing..... (the reliability may be another issue though).

@chitts: I believe someone here has those you link to on order. I wonder if they will speak up? Eye-wink

FWIW, instead of gluing additional stuff on the site I reckon it's better to use better emitters/controller to get more light out of the same package.

I am with Chitts re liability. I only have horror stories (9 in 24mths to be precise – 6 of which were mine, the other 3 mates). They look great value and pump out plenty of light, but their failing while commuting home at night, not a laughing matter! But I will say I got great customer service (5 replaced very promptly, 6th time = money back).
