There’s been some wet and wild conditions on the far south coast this week. The Bega River reached its highest peak ever – surpassing the 1978 flood level of 8.3m and there’s been plenty of wind.
It’s all provided some spectacular viewing - but the good news for the Tathra MTB Enduro is that Tathra did not experience the same torrential rains received by towns west of Bega. Instead of a 250+ml deluge; Tathra and the surrounding Tanja State Forest and Mimosa Rocks National Park received some 60ml. The creeks are up and things are a little soggy – but it’s not dire news for the event. With the Tathra Doolagharl Singletrack located on the side of a hill, the course drains quickly.
If the weather forecast holds true – we are in for some fine weather later this week – which augers well for Saturday and Sunday’s racing.
If there are any further weather developments we will keep you posted via the event website!
