My target has been sub 40 since I got back on the bike 4 months ago. Felt good decending today although still slow'ish up hill.

Very happy to hit 35 minutes.

Target now is to find another 5 minutes to drop under 30... Any tips?

Time is always easiest (or is that hardest?) to make up in the climbs.

Flog yourself stupid from the Hydro Lab to the top of the short bit of sniggle where you come out and cross the road (pay attention even though you are trying!) by the golf club entrance. You've then got a minute or so to recover slightly along by the playing field before hitting the sniggle again. Because this is the easiest place to destroy your legs I actually think that carpark by the golf club may be the best place to start/finish but didn't try from there.

Of course this is the start of the lap for most so another tip is to do a first very slow lap (or two) as a warm up. This is a good idea anyhow, just to get the feel of the track on the day and check that there's nothing amiss.

Yup, Rob's right. Hills are our friends. Get good at climbing and the rest will fall into place.

Sounds like it's back to cascades then. Might focus on the 4 gates for a month or so to get my legs strong... Damn I hate that quarry climb

If you want to get really fast just to laps of the Quarry Climb Eye-wink

No, I'm not joking! Sticking out tongue
