Hi All,

With the dollar still strong and a nice (very nice) Christmas bonus coming my way, thought I'd start upgrading the steed.

Seen some forks I'd like from Jenson. Anyone had purchasing experience from them ? Would like to know;

Security - Good/Bad
Packaging - Good/Bad
Hidden charges - Additional Freight/Import Duties if was under $1000

Thanks for the info

Cheers, Toddy

I have used them a number of times with no issues. Their freight charges are substantial, so you need to do a fair comparison to CRC when you have achieved the "free" shipping.

What brand are you looking at? I know some shops don't ship outside various areas due to agreements with manufacturers.

FWIW, I bought a complete bike from Jenson years ago and even when considering postage and import duties payable was still much cheaper than local options. Of course you have to be very sure of what you want (or not and don't worry too much about any changes you may have to make). Over the years have bought smaller things from them too, and know plenty of people who have - they are a great store for sure. CRC and Wiggle mostly have them beaten for price lately though.

Before you go ahead with any purchase do check with your LBS (local bike shop) though. I know a rider who recently picked up a new fork from a local store at a price that was very similar to mail order, but being a local source got it delivered and fitted in record time too (less than 24 hours).

I use them all the time. This was my latest experience :

Friday 5th November at 11:30pm, I ordered : Camelback, 2xhelmets, grips, clothes, gloves and chains. The delivery arrived at my doorstep at 9:15am on Monday 8th November.

I can't even get stuff delivered that fast within Australia! The shipping I chose was the cheapest Fedex option - guaranteed delivery was 7 days, it came in 2.

+1 for Jenson

Unfortunatly my most recent experience with Wiggle has not been so good, ordered 3 weeks ago now from those guys and have yet to recieve my order, however I have to wait 20 business days before the order can be declared as lost. The most frustrating part is because they dont use any tracking numbers have no way of tracking the parcel what so ever.

This was for spare parts for the Fling this weekend.

Wiggle do now. I put an order in on the 30/10/10 and it shipped on the 01/11/10 and actually got delivered on the Saturday 06/11/10.
