For those who have always wanted one but couldn't justify the ~ $200 for a Park Tools Stand Aldi have some cheap but serviceable stands on sale this week for $39.99.

For more info have a look at their website:

[Mod. moved to shopping as this is relating to a specific offer]

The price is definitely right, but not sure they look so stable? a bit tippy perhaps? The legs if the base don't seem to go very far under the bike.

Just a thought... Puzzled

I don't rate ALDI....
I just went and purchased a bike repair stand and I must say - for the $$$ it looks reasonably good.

I appreciate the heads up.
Merry Christmas

Could never justify forking out a lot of money for a bike stand and the missus wanted to get me something extra for Christmas (in addition to the other biking stuff I've already picked out). Anyway, looks like Santa will be popping one of these on his sleigh.

Note to everyone else... Brookvale Aldi has now sold out. It only took until about 9:30am.

Seems printing out the Aldi ad for wife worked a treat - a new long box under the tree. Thanks for letting me know guys. Santa's helper said there was a big que and she got one of the last ones - a bargain hopefully but anyway beats the crouch down and get hit in the head with the bars technique I have employed up until now

I got one too and just tried it out. It has a very good spread on the ground and doesn't wobble or sway (it weighs 7kg). However the clamps which you need to tighten up to keep the different extensions and bars from moving are a little weak, especially the one which grips the frame. I think a piece of old inner tube wrapped around gives it that little bit of extra torque.
I've never used or owned any other work stand before and have nothing else to compare this one with, but for $40 I'm not complaining.
If you can find one I'd grab it pronto, as its a hell of a lot better than not having one!!!
