Singletrack fun at Kiwarrak

Thanks to RobbieO for accompanying me today at Kiwarrak.

'Twas a fairly cruisy pace for the most part - Heartrate Hill excepted - and we found Sweet As which I missed last time we visited a few weeks ago. I can reliably inform y'all that that trail is aptly named. I'll clean Heartrate Hill one day. And thanks to the locals who go around and blow the leaf litter off - the grip is pretty awesome - and so are you guys.

The gap between the trees can be pretty tight - all the better for keeping the motos out. Pleased to say that none of them jumped out in front of me today. Smiling

So here's where we rode - not being local you'll see I still managed to get us lost a couple of times and we needed to backtrack. The descent down from the southern end of Tinonee Rd will lead you into Sweet As. You'll need to like railing berms.

Here's RobbieO riding one of the (many) fun little obstacles:

Here's the famous see-saw (we wussed it Sticking out tongue )
Kiwarrak State Forest - River Trail See Saw

Did you guys ride the fast xc downhill trail above the see saw ? This would have to be one of the best trails there.

Also how did you fare on the creek jump known as 'The Vag' at the bottom of the river trail - ie the bit past the big see saw.

Great trails just wish it was a little closer to home.

that above mentioned track-then went down track left of the 'river' trail & found some more sweet singletrack!

Next time follow the trail down (dont need to do the see saw if you dont want too) and you will get some super fast trail, with a few hits along the way. Ends up with a jump across the creek.

This would have to be the best run there.

How did you go with G20/21 this is the area with lots of small obstacles / jumps and the great wooden berm that you hit at speed. Again lots of fun, and nothing too big to get really hurt on.

Oh the memories !!

Yes, that wooden berm was impressive. And yep, we wussed that too Sticking out tongue - the main objective besides having fun was not to get ourselves in over our heads when there was noone else around to pick us up if we got broken. If there'd been a local to show us the approach and line maybe we'd have considered it, although gap jumps scare the [insert rude word of choice] out of me!

Oh, forgot to mention that at one section near Tinonee Road it smelled like something big had died. We didn't stick around to investigate (stomach was turning) but I called it in to the local cops this morning just in case another one of Ivan Milat's relatives had been passing through since I was last there 3 weeks ago. They called me this afternoon for directions so I'll follow up tomorrow.

Hopefully it was just a roo.
