Unreal ride today ,started out a bit wet but soon dried out, the trails were in great condition we ended up doing red loop twice allthough we tried a short cut on the second lap to avoid doing "the Wall" twice but that didn't work out and we still ended up doing it twice (walking it that is).thanks to all who attended it truly was a great morning on the trails. Smiling

Really looking forward to the James Williamson race, for a track that is about 70% firetrail there really are not that many boring bits.
Was able to demonstrate my supreme technical skills early on the single track when my old legs were able to snap one half of the joining link. With far more qualified mechanics watching on I was able to replace the link and get mobile again. Might not be that big a deal to some but I think washing the bike is maintenance. Found out that I can't ride the wall with my 2*9 setup so looking forward to walking it in the race. Also stopping on the steepest bit and not unclipping just doesn't work very well. Not sure everyone saw me tumbling back down the hill still clipped in but I am sure it would have amused those that saw it.
Also surprised Craig slowed down enough at times on the singletarck to give me the impression I could keep up. Normally his only speed is very fast and I just see a diminishing trail of dust. I guess I will have to wait for the lap times in the race to see how much he was holding back.
Deano, you missed a good day and thanks guys for the company.

yes Paul I enjoyed your back roll on the wall, very gracefull indeed !I wouldn't say I was holding back on the single track more like trying not to burn my legs off after all those climbs and I will certainly be keeping the pace down a bit if I am to survive the race. Eye-wink

This sunday at all?

I have zero plans and want to get some decent laps into me I think, as I have a good base but need to smash myself with some laps and get the HR up....
