Saw this on a Melbourne high st last week. Didn't appear to be there for some promotional reason, just a regular commuter - no lights though I see.....
Needs a set of fat tyres and then it'll go anywhere. Forget 29ers, this is the future
for this? http://www.evandalevillagefair.com/
We just happened to be tripping around Tassie when this was on in 2002. It was a blast and well worth a looksee if you're there around that time.
It's a pretty serious race with some serious speed and as a consequence some nasty crashes from such a high position.
EDIT: And some more perhaps more relevant? http://youtu.be/4vqTpw6L2pI
dunno about riding penny farthings but that is one awesome bit of track!
Would love to build/buy a 36er for cruising the mountains trails. Don't think I would single speed it though.
