This years Dirtworks 100 saw a few GTA members out for a ride in less than ideal conditions. Just as well the sandstone base trails stand up pretty well.Though in a couple of sections they need to get those convicts back to do some trail maintenance.

Myself and the Team Drunken Scum did OK and all finished in one piece it was hard going in the mud and most times were slower than usual, though even with a mamoth hangover I did faster than last year, go figure.

Also congratulations to Browny, one of our most enthusiastic trailbuilders, must have also spent some time on the bike this year.
He rode an awsome race for 51st place overall - in his first attemt at the race!

Well done.

Good job Smiling

There's lots of Dirtworks blogs on the event page: Dirtworks Classic 2011.

Tidy work.

A couple of glenrock regulars, but not GTA builders came in 2nd in mens open, 3rd in Mens Vets, and another 20th overall.

Far exceeded expectations and most of all felt really good throughout the whole ride. Much unlike the Fling where I was almost ready to toss my bike off the nearest cliff and call it an end to mtb.

Looking at my splits I think I was way too conservative on the OGNR but at the time I was thinking better to lose a bit than run out of talent and end up with a DNF.

Just got to find my next challenge. Now they have pulled the pin on this years AD I'm not quite sure what to do.

I think the biggest question is whether anyone from GTA made the river? Maybe we need to incorporate this into a trail because it sure seems a couple of us need the practice!

See if you can pick who this GTA member is, powering over the line past the guy with no chain!

@Browny i manage to stay dry over the bridge but lost it in the sand ...maybe same north shore trail features in g/rock to brush up on skill's.

My very wet self even made the video footage.

I believe I wasn't the first to go in, but must have been pretty close to it.
