This is a shout-out to all of you that have competed at the Back Yamma Bigfoot event last year, i need some advice on training. My fitness is at a good level and getting better each week, but i need to hit the trails (as soon as they dry out :S) to work on some technical skills. This being my first race and first time at the Bigfoot event, i was wondering if anyone could tell me:
1. How technical is the 50km event?
2. What are some good technical rides (within the NBeaches).

I haven't done the big foot, but from what I have heard its pretty mild in terms of hills and technical challenges. But if you are after technical check out red hill. Lots of everything, big roll offs, gap jumps, rock gardens and some of the best single track on the beaches. There are b lines around most of the big stuff so you can build your confidence over time. Very well worth a look. There's also some reeeeally nice tracks along Mona Vale Rd. If you're keen I can show you around one arvo or weekend.

I'll be doing the 50km for the first time aswell this year but I did go for a bit of an recon mission. Its flat as a tack. There isn't anything greatly technical. Some tight twisty stuff but that is as hard as it gets. They might add some stuff for the race but i can't imagine it being real hard.
Can't wait.
