Erm... that's about 80Ks guys! Nice training, but good luck on that 5 hour ride time!
FYI, last time we did Ando+Oaks took 3h27 moving time, 6h31 elapsed.
Will be at GNR most of tomorrow, let's see how the legs feel upon return, but can't say this is looking promising for myself!
Would love to get up to the Blue Mtns again....too early for me at the mo...might head out to cascades for some hills.
Interested - but would prefer more like 40ks rather than 80km.
Will give you a call this afternoon Evan.
Cheers
Nic
ps Early start sounds good
Hi Guys, I just thought you should know that the Woodford shop has closed down again, so you'll have to carry all your food, I'll be home if you need anything, have fun Guys.
John.
Thanks for the heads up about the shop.
We were hoping spares central maybe available, just in case
Evan
you are mad!
Have fun
meeee
Absolutely...... mad.
Due to a comedy of errors we missed the 6:52am train. So we decided to do the Oaks up and back and St Helenas to the clearing out and back, nice 68km trip.
If we missed you Nic, sorry. I text messaged you only to get a call from your wife to say you had left your phone at home.
Evan
Hi Evan
Yes, left the phone at home (annoying). Actually I also missed the train. And we got lost... Puncture too actually!
I would have been at Glenbrook spot on 6:52am, realised I would not make the train so drove on up to Woodford Station, where I met Damian who was also looking for you. We hopped on the train, expecting you guys would already be on board.
Got off at Wentworth falls, but still no sign of you, so decided to ride Anderson's anyway. Except neither of us knew the way...
Turns out we went down the Ingar trail (accidently turned off the King's Tableland Road too early). We rode down trying every side trail along the way. Eventually got down to the camping area, then turned rode back up to Wentworth Falls again, then back by road to Woodford. Now we know what isn't Andersons!!!
All up about 50km distance (a bit less than you guys) with about 1,000m of climbing - my fitness was tested. Damian, on his single speed and practicing for the 24hr, had no such problems.
Next time ...
Nic
ps Thanks Damian!!!
Thanks for the ride yesterday Nic 50k in all with that uphil at the end was a good day.
Learnt a lesson yesterday normally I like to keep the weight and clutter out of my riding pack but I will always take a map and or directions for a ride I havent done before.
It was a funny day for me as well.
I started at Glenbrook at 8.45am hoping to meet Ev and Bruce somewhere at the top of the oaks trail, as i thought they were coming back down from the Anderson's trail. Surely we would pass each other?? Anyway they started they St Helena's trail about 2 mins before i got there! I didn't catch them on that trail - So i cut it short and decided to go back down the oaks - saw them at the end of it all. About 3.20 riding time in total
