Hey - Jen and I (and possibly others) will be there on Sunday morning, planning on hitting out 4hrs too.
To be honest, what we are planning on doing is fairly unsociable.
Havent worked out what time etc, so wont officially sign-up for this ride, but we'll see you there.
If its all done quickly enough, then lunch at the village store (with the best burgers in town) is always a good option.
You not doing the state champs?
this has caused some controversy with a few people asking, but no, neither Jenny nor I will be there.
I know it seems like its the wrong call, but an XC race needs rest, and prep to make it worthwhile, and honestly, its too early for that.
We have always planned to race Bottlebutt, make it our last marathon, and then prepare for the UCI race in Malaysia in October. Unfortunately, this just doesnt quite fit.
We need another weekend of big miles, built on the back of a couple of big weeks. Horribly structured, but it does bring the results...
The goal is complete speed in November, then a mini-break, and build back up to the nationals in Feb / March.
I am personally conflicted as I would love to support the race, and really really want a series, but the notice of this was too short, and the timing just didnt quite work.
A real shame though.
Good luck to all that are racing though....
Craig, Will be there if I can get a leave pass approved. Will let you know tonight.
Pretty specific and disciplined training Ants!
I train fairly hard for my age but have difficulty keeping to a regime or program.
Sorry for the hijack of your post Craig!
Craked, I have a gps trace from the Chocfoot race last weekend if you want it? It's about a 50/50 mix of fire trail and single track, not what you'd expect from a singletrack race series! I heard a lot of complaints about it during the day.
Let me know your email address and I'll send it over.
Pete
@Ants ,will be sure to say g'day if we see you there ,I think you guys will be doing a lot more km's than we will be but a burger at the cafe after sounds tempting.
