Back to 40 minutes (carrying 3 beers and a 1/4 butterfly lamb!)

Have been riding Cascades 4 gates for 2 weeks. Had a spare hour this afternoon after having friends round for lunch.
Thought "what better way to burn off the beers and lamb than a cruse round the dam". Felt a bit seedy from the Parkway to Hydro but after that felt good.
I find that Cascades builds fitness but also general climbing technique / psychology. After those 4 climbs - particularly Quarry and the Climb back out to Ralston the bitumin hills from Hydro up to Golf Course don't have the same impact. So for anyone wanting to improve their Manly Dam time I'd say go hit Cascades 4 Gates for a few weeks and you'll drop 5 or more minutes off.
Another month doing 4 gates and hope to pick up where I left off before doing my back this year.... high 35 minutes and starting my attack on 30!
Ride splits:
Parkway to the creek; 1:52
Top of Heart Break hill; 4:34
Top of single trail; 11:53
Hydro lab; 18:58
School; 22:10
Golf Course; 31:53
Back to Parkway; 40:42

toasted cheese sangers washed down with OJ b4 my ride at Glenrock.
28.35 down to 23.35?
I'm off to cascades now! Where's my lights??
I'm talking about the "drink 3 beers before riding" type of riders
But while we're on the subject.... that 4 Gates Challenge is just dying for someone to go under 1 hour! That's certainly my target by I think I'm at least 12 months away from getting to that level of fitness... if ever!
Dont think i'll be doing a hot lap of the Dam anytime soon after having a few beers!
