9am - Marramarra virgin
Bloodwood Road, Fiddletown heads up to the National Park. There's a sharp right bend by Marramarra Ridge Trail, with Coba Point Fire Trail shortly after (the proceeding sharp left). There's parking by either trail which are less than 1km apart, but the area by Coba Point Fire Trail is the go.
CANCELLED DUE TO BAD WEATHER.

RIDE IS FOR 9AM SUNDAY - I CAN'T GET THE TIME SETTING CORRECTLY...
I'll be heading down to this track at 9am on Sunday and following this GPS route http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/activity/2590961.
I haven't been on these tracks before so if anyone wants to join me to explore or show me around it would be great.
I won't be in too much of a hurry but will want to get around fairly quickly. I'm not that great on techie bits so the 'super technical' stuff that's at the end of the smugglers track might slow me down or even see me walking (ew) if it's too bad.
The only change I might make to the GPS track is to do smugglers and the uphill first to get it out of the way but happy to work this out with anyone joining me on the day.
The long range forecast is saying theres a chance of rain but less than 1mm so I'll be seeing how it looks on the day. If it's only a bit damp I'll still be there.
Hope to see you there!
BTW, it's Hamish and I'm on 0420-461-831
Were you there and have a story to tell?

I'm an slim maybe for this. Put it this way, my bikes in the shop (will get ETA tomorrow), I haven't got a leave pass as yet and the weather forecast will probably change 10 times before Sunday.
Does anyone know how this area holds up after the rain we've had?
Part of the top up near Coba trail should be okay, but from what I remember the carpark area will be very heavy. That said, the trail down to the creek should be okay. But how much water will be in the creek? Once past there, it is a long fireroad climb back to the top which I think should also be fine.
Hopefully you don't have the disaster out there that we suffered the last time. That ride really went down in Nobmob folklore.
I rode out there last about 7 years ago. i remember a lot of walking down the end of smugglers and then back up the fire trail from the creek. I grew up about 5km down the road from here and used to ride bikes out there all the time as a teenager. Can't remember much of it but when you get near the top of the big climb, about a km before the gate, there is a trail leading off to the left that from memory had some great views over Coba bay and Berowra creek. Also if you head out Collingridge point fire trail off the coba ridge trail you will get good views again. Not sure of the condition of these trails now as they probably don't get used much due to gates being put across them but they were fine 15 years ago!
Wow, what happened?!?
That would be this one

Sorry guys, been having trouble getting the time setting correctly for this ride - it shouldn't be this hard!
I'll try again in the morning...
I'm a maybe now the time is early. The footy is on starting from midday. Ill see how the weather goes and try to get a leave pass. Never been out there before but it seems similar to GNR so should be good.
Hey, Hamish,
I go to Marramarra on the occasional basis, and it certainly has good riding on the Coba Ridge branch. I'd love to join you on Sunday, so long as it doesn't rain (which is a strong possibility). If the weather's ok, though, I'll probably be there.
Tristan.
I'll see what the weather is when I get up. Note that daylight saving starts tomorrow!
