Hi there NobMob members

Just letting you know that the last mountain bike race for the year will be the Wicked Wombat 8hr Enduro, being held in Jindabyne in the Snowy Mountains on New Years Eve.

This event is being held on a newly constructed private trail network that is not normally open to the public. The 19+km trail network contains a pump track, skills park, jumps line, pocket park and flow trail. It's located on a 300 acre property and is part of an outdoor education centre that has modern accommodation and dining facilities.

The race entry is restricted to 200 people and is open to all types of riders and all types of bikes and can be ridden as a solo, teams of 2 or teams of 4 and entries close on December 28th.

If any of the club members are keen to attend but need more information, they can contact me on 0423403804. or visit our website www.rollingground.com.au

All the best for Christmas and the New Year.

Happy trails

& a bar for grog?

Rolling Ground Jindabyne's picture

Hi there

They'll be a big dinner after the event where we'll hand out the prizes for the race, then we'll have music (a DJ) and a bar to buy grog (cheap and open from the afternoon) so we can party on into the new year.

I'm in the process of sorting out a beer sponsorship for the event and may even have a beer short cut in the race course if it gets done.

During the day we've got a BBQ and food stalls for people and on Sunday morning a huge breakfast organised for those that stay onsite.

Hope that helps

Hey nice website and trail info
For an area that should be great for mountain biking
I reckon the information has been a little lacking for years
Good luck - in other years I would have been down that way over xmas and ny

Is there camping on site at the event or is it just for proper accommodation? Ie, chalets etc.
Was thinking about a road trip in the van for New year!

Martine and I are going in as a pair.
Shame they only have a pairs category as we're actually mixed masters.
Oh well, should be fun anyway!

Thanks for the feedback, the website is brand new and a working project so any suggestions are appreciated.

I also agree that the ride information for this area has been lacking and that's why we're currently pushing for more MTB trail development, working with the local council on the Lake Jindabyne Trail Project and with the National Parks on the Thredbo Valley Trail to build up more trail options in the region.

We're also beginning to re map and gps plot all the trails in the area, so we'll have professionally produced trail maps like the Bungarra trail map we created. (on our website) for all the regions trails. So stay tuned as we're working on making Jindabyne a really great mountain bike holiday destination and if you come this way look us up and we'll get riding.

Cheers

Hi there Gazza

Yes there is camping options at the venue, there are a number of camp sites, some close and some away from amenities. But if our in a van you could probably find a nice flat spot in one of the many parking areas.

On the property there is accommodation for over 250 in either small private rooms or larger dorm rooms if people don't want to camp. The property is a provider of school outdoor education programs and has full modern facilities, kitchens, lounge areas, games rooms etc for us to use.

Hope that helps and hope to see you there.

As this is our first major event and to keep it simple we've just kept the categories as limited as we can. If we get good support for this race we'll consider expanding the categories for next years event and are open to suggestions for what works for riders.

Happy trails

I agree, too many categories in a small race would be a pain in the butt!
Looking forward to it!
