Hi there NobMob members

Just letting you know that the last mountain bike race for the year will be the Wicked Wombat 8hr Enduro, being held in Jindabyne in the Snowy Mountains on New Years Eve.

This event is being held on a newly constructed private trail network that is not normally open to the public. The 19+km trail network contains a pump track, skills park, jumps line, pocket park and flow trail. It's located on a 300 acre property and is part of an outdoor education centre that has modern accommodation and dining facilities.

WWS #1 Lithgow

When:
Sunday, 8 February, 2009 - 08:30
Ride Database Entry:

Meeting Point:

From Lithgow head on the Western Highway toward Bathurst. After 10-11Km you will head uphill and see thick pine forest to the right. It's dual carriageway here, and there's a right turn across the other lane into Forest Ridge Drive (signposted and a sealed road). About 50m on the left there's a turning where you can park in the shade. There's also an old concrete section of the highway just past there with masses of parking.

Stromlo - Whisperer after 8 hrs

Great weekend, challenging course, as always great to have friendly banter, and great results by everyone.

I had a good race, pacing myself well to my objectives, getting to the end in ‘good’ shape and avoiding cramps.

Kept my heart rate below 80% most of the time, averaged 75% (143) over the 8 hours, didn’t cramp and had enough fuel in the legs for another lap. But.... the short travel bikes really meant hard work on the downhill track descent, and the rest of the time it was either pretty technical or open and gravelly, meaning pretty loose. As Steve01 commented, good practice for drifting & sliding around!
