Hi,

keen to do something different. I have never been on the GNR before, but have a GPS file/ description which indicates that a great loop ride of somewhat just over 40km can be had in the area. Other accounts indicated that it drains well.

So, if you want to experiment together with me, sign up!

If you know the area, you can still join, but don't tell the group. Smiling

You would not want to loose out an opportunity on watching the rest of the group to get lost, right!

Cheers,
Volker

Well if you like technical stuff, you're not going to be at all disappointed, though it will be hard going. Best bit though is that you start with the uphill and then get the good stuff. Would love to join, I need it for DW training, but I'm not going to make it. There's numerous different routes, and you can head north as far as you want, though most turn around at Clare's Bridge to make it a 36km loop. However, I did it once where we went out about 60km, and if that's the training you want, then go for it for goodness sake!

Any chance of a later start time - 9:00 am?

I was out there on Wednesday before the torrential rain out west. It was very wet - make no mistake. But all fully ridable.

St Alban shows 10mm last 24h. And the support crew is nowhere to be seen Smiling. I am starting to feel not too good about this ride. There is a good chance I may cancel this for a road ride.

Sorry, no can't do 9am.

Is misleading, I was looking at that in April last year for a training ride and it isnt accurate.

The problem with riding up there in the wet and if its been raining heaps is the sands and grit gets into your drivetrain, BB, Brakes basically everywhere and your then looking at a complete rebuild really. A number of us had to basically complete replace our drivetrains after the training ride.

Pretty cool!

Where do you sorce your data from?

BOM. The colour graphs are graphing the colour of the radar over the location every 5 minutes.
