Hi Folks,
I just wondered how busy Manly Dam gets in the evenings on a Tuesday-Thursday evenings these days?
Is there regular traffic through to 9 or 10 at night?
Only reason I ask is I dont want to be the only one on the track too late, just incase I come a cropper.
Cheers

With the rough and degraded conditions current at the moment, I wouldn't imagine there are too many.

I was out late Saturday arvo with some hand tools trying to drain a few of the remaining puddles and fill the mud bog at the bottom of 19th Hole with some rock, and there were maybe four riders in the 30 minutes I was there around 6pm, of which three were in a group together.

Far fewer than I was expecting.

If you're looking for a workout, maybe ride out to this one instead? http://nobmob.com/node/35035#comment-110508 ... or drive out instead if you're time-crunched.

With daylight savings finished and the colder weather coming on, there will be even less people if any at all. I've ridden Manly Dam by myself a few times at night and had a few touch and go moments so I'd be recommending against riding it alone. The other issues is that it just seems to change so much lately that you think you know the track one week and then there's a dirty big loose rock in the way the next.

Having said that, if you can get someone to go along with you, it's a great place to ride at night, you can forget that you're in the middle of suburbia. 9 to 10 o'clock at night is a little late for me but if you're ever up for an earlier night ride on a Friday or Saturday night, I'd definitely be keen.

I treat my first lap as a reconnaissance lap before cutting loose.

As Dave says, it just changes too much. Even without the effect of weather and bike traffic, people move things around and that can be an issue if you're not expecting it.

I dont ride Manly too often these days as opt for Appin more at weekends, but im wanting to get out once a week in the evenings now especially in prep for Dirtworks.

I might just post some events in the calendar and see if anyone comes along.
Cheers for sharing the info
