Folks,

please see attached a pic of where the spoke holder on my rear Crank Brothers Colbolt rim has broken -

I assume this is terminal and now means either a new rim + rebuild or a complete wheel!!!

Im open to ideas.

car polish and/or gaffa tape?

second pete - looks like a product issue (who'd of thunk it with a CB product)

I have now been taold that this is not an uncommon problem with these - however I bought the whole bike second hand so I won't be talking to CB - but I may see if they guy i brought it off of me want to do a deal on a new wheel (not CB this time!).

I had thought of gaffer tape . . . . . .

2nd hand or not either way I would still contact CB. You've got nothing to lose. The worse that could happen is they tell you to f-off and the best is you get a new rim Smiling

Agree with PB. That's a statutory warranty issue - manufacturer limitation of warranty to original purchaser doesn't necessarily apply.

Tacoed my front cobalt in feb at Orange.
Blackman cycles at penrith got me in a new rim for about 100 bucks, rebuilt it myself.
All I did was tape up where the alloy spoaks cross so I didn't screw up the lacing and it was easy from there.
