Fork upgrade

I've got a 2010 Jamis Trail X3 - (one of these: http://www.jamisbikes.com/usa/thebikes/hardtails...) with the stock standard RST Gila T9 fork.

I'd like to replace these with something a little better. The current forks are leaking, and bottom out/top out frequently.

Does anyone have any recommendations? I mostly ride offroad (Manly dam etc), but do the odd on road stint to/from work too (6 k's each way), so a lock-out would be nice.

Maybe something along the lines of 100mm rockshox recon?? Good air fork for xc that you will be able to fine tune. Or if not the recon, look at just a 100mm air fork, maybe try find yourself a second hand tora 312 nice and cheap, good entry level air fork. Actually, you could even look at marozcchi 100m bombers, really nice cheap fork despite being a bit heavy.

I dont think I could agree more with the idea of the rockshox recon. Those forks are an absolute killer for general purpose riding. I think you can also get them with a poplock remote lockout if you want.

If you are buying online (which I assume you probably will) make sure the fork fits both your steerer tube diameter and the quick release/thru axle system on your current wheels.
