Best XC Hardtail for Under $800
NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
Hi,
Ive recently moved to Perth from the UK and stupidly sold my Kona Kula Deluxe before I came, I am looking for a new XC under $800. I'm out of the loop on technical spec these days so am not sure what is a good price or what I should be able to get for this price. Any info is highly welcomed.
Cheers peeps.

huffy from target or check the classifieds out on this site just to the left under browes
Wow - that wasnt exactly helpful^^^^
deore/x5 level components as a minimum. disk brakes are a must - stick with recognised brands - your budget is well below where your previous bike was from what i can tell as well.
check stores that stock Giant, Avanti, Scott, specialised, merida, felt, then the decent bike stores, especially when looking for a ladies bike, as picking up a well specced bike on special is very much on the cards - you could just ring around tell them your height size, and ask what they have
yea whiskers must be peeved because the huffy he bought didnt live up to expectations.
you could try checking Bike exchange out as well, they often have reasonable deals of bike stores trying to move last seasons stock.
are you looking for new or 2nd hand ?
This is close to the the time of the year when the 2013 bikes are out and 2012 models will be on sale, you can easily save 10% on a new bike.
Have a look at the Giants they are normally very good value for money.
Ride Advice in the city already has the 2013 Specialized Epic in there.
I would be looking at making an offer on something like this
