Great day, great race!
Well despite the lack of single track or technical riding, I really enjoyed this race - beautiful location, great atmosphere and a fast pace. The first climb saw us gain about 280m in elevation, and really strung out the riders. It was steeper than I expected, but that suited me as I train on hills a lot. I passed a few people on this section and felt pretty good at the top. Some very fast downhill then on to the second climb which wasn't as steep as the first, but was quite long. Again I caught and passed a couple of riders on this climb, then took it pretty easy on the way down to avoid a head on with the riders coming up. Back down on the flat section it was like a time trial to the finish - sitting on speeds of around 30-35. By the finish my GPS showed nearly 700m of climbing and an average speed of 23. So as much as I love single track I would definitely do this ride again - it was a blast!

How did the course rate compared to Dirt Works? Smoother and faster?
LCNP HILL fest is obviously paying off for you. Need to start training again down there agin after South Africa trip for the Kowalski classic.
Thanks Floydo, yes I'd say it was very similar to the Convict, just a bit smoother and faster. The 29er hard tail was the perfect bike for it. I think the LCNP hill training helped for sure. Good luck with your Kowalski prep - next race for me is the Fling, so a day off today then training starts this week! See you on the trails.
Just looked at the Garmin and top speed was 64km/hr.
Top result. Well done.
