Hi all, its that time again - 'team' bike for sale in readiness for 2013 kit..

I am selling my 'play bike'. Its a 2009 spec frame (but actually came to me as a brand new frame at the end of 2010) which I have built up and used as a bike for when I am just doing relaxed 'play' riding with friends, doing some skills work, and most recently just cruising to the shops (disgraceful).

Its an XL S-Works Stumpjumper frame, which has 5" of travel front and rear. It is spec'd with Specialized own fork - a 'Future Shock' which was a joint venture with Rockshox.
Front and Rear suspension utilise the 'Brain' technology, meaning it can be fully locked out for sprinting, but then fully open for bumps - with no manually intervention.
The frame is full carbon, with alu chain-stays (slightly more impact resistant) and carbon seat stays.

I have spec'd the bike with some no-nonsense kit. Full SRAM X0 (2x10) Groupset. 160mm rotor at the back, and 180mm at the front.
Thomson stem, and Answer Pro-Taper Carbon (700mm) low riser bar.
Carbon Specialized S-Works seatpost and lovely comfortable Specialized Phenom saddle.
S-Works 'The Captain' 2.25 tyres.

Its been really well looked after, and is in excellent condition (as you can see from the pictures). I just fitted a brand new chain and cassette.
The bike is highly versatile, can be raced at club XC, would be an excellent 'all mountain / enduro' bike, and is really all the bike most people would need.

I could take it to The Scott in a fortnights time (I might actually race a lap or two on it, if it isnt sold - as its PERFECT for the descents there) if people wanted to see it, but I am not sure it will last that long at this price.
Can be viewed in the City during the week too...

Great top of the range bike, bargain price.

Damn nice play bike.

Really - no takers?
Thats a bit of a surprise. Maybe the wheels are too small for it to be desirable these days...

If you were thinking about it, feel free to make me an offer....

My Yeti which was a 26er. Do you have it on Bike Exchange? That was where I got my interest from....

I'd like to see a poll on what size frame people ride.

I'd be keen for your bike if it was a Large.

I might (fairly low income) be able to get the money together to buy this beast, if it is still for sale of course... Sticking out tongue

Antsonline's picture

Yep - still for sale. Little flurry of recent interest, but still here.

If $$ are a problem, I dont mind if you paid me in a couple of 'hits'.
Lets speak..PM me or something.

I am racing tomorrow (Sat) at Yellowmundee, so I could bring it along if you were gonna be there. Otherwise, I'm in Eastern suburbs - you can drop by anytime.

I am lowering the price - to $1700 ono.

Its hanging there, in my garage, never getting used, looking all sad. It wants a new home. Like a puppy at Xmas - someone take this home....

That's an absolute steal. It's crap timing as I've just bought a dually frame and built my own so the missus wouldn't enter into a conversation about buying another one. My project cost about the same and I've ended up with half the bike; s-works carbon, hmmmmm

Can't believe this hasn't been snapped up! S-works! Carbon! $1700!

I blame this 29er fad...

Seeing this at this price hurts

I will not buy this bike because if i did then my wife would feel she needed to spend the same amount on something

But just to prove it's not for me anyway and ease some of the pain
What size person would an XL fit

If I keep reading this post I'm going to vomit... If only I hadn't just bought a house I'd snapped this up by now. If anyone wants to take my 2009 Epic Expert off my hands I could risk divorce and 'help' Ant out Eye-wink

The only thing that's stopping the little bit of sick in mouth from making a mess on the floor is the knowledge that this bike is waaay to big for a hobbit like me.
