ENVE Carbon Wheels

Really want to get a set of ENVE carbon wheels...
I can deal with the USA price of ~$2,500 a set, but as usual, we get raped in Aus with a thousand odd dollars extra.
I love supporting my LBS (I support 3 regularly), but i just can't justify spending an extra 40%
Problem is, ENVE USA only ship domestic. Does anyone know where I can get a set at a more reasonable price, or do I just have to get someone to ship it from there?
Thanks.

Suppose a friend could ship it.
Otherwise you could use a forwarding service like MyUS.com or similar?
they have been quick and reliable.
Most of the forwarding sites have freight calculators so you should be able to work out what your costs are before you sign up for one. Some also have the ability to make the purchase on your behalf, where the seller requires a US based/addressed CC.
Avoid Fed Ex though.
if you have anything over the $1000 limit and it is declared as such when shipped with Fedex, they will charge you teh duty plus their admin charges. I think it is a profit centre for them as the admin charges are over the top. I have never had a problem with shipping over $1000 stuff with UPS or USPS, but FedEx I have been caught out twice.
You can also potentially understate the value of the item with a mail forwarder as they will use what you put down as the value and generally dont include the invoices. (not that I am condoning that type of behaviour )

Thanks for the website. Thats way cheaper that what I found on UPS etc.
Got some fams over there so no drama to ship to them, but thats cheaper by far.
So I'm assuming these are for the new build.
Got the frame yet?
I have an Enve rim buiilt up very nicely indeed, I would not spend that sort of money on a enve rim again. I have got a carbon wheel built up by TWE wheels here in Sydney for much less and it has been perfect and riding the wheels there is no difference between them on the trail. http://nobmob.com/node/39151#comment-123180
Yeah the design that has gone into ENVES is cool but the price is still a bit much when you can get other wheels that are lighter and or cost less.
If I was buying another set of carbon wheels i would be looking at TWE for a cost advantage and local support.
If I wanted something more exotic I would be looking here http://www.jpracingbike1.com/DUKE-XC-Wheels-bbca...
Enjoy what ever you get, Once you go carbon you will never go back to flexly alloy rims ever again!!
DHL are the same, the fees can be in the hundreds of dollars plus duty plus GST.
Yeah, for the new build. Got the XTR Trail wheels, don't think I'll need a spare set, so I'll just have to build another bike to use them
No frame yet.
Was supposed to be last thursday "at the very latest", which apparently means add two weeks to that. Unless it takes longer
On a side note, sorry to slag off Perth businesses.... but SOME of the service here is really shit.
One of the LBS i support (Bike Force Cannington) have been great. Needed stuff in a hurry, they checked and got back to me with an accurate ETA and actually gave me a call when it came in. Same price as buying online too!
Another I called today. Website doesn't work, and hasn't for awhile. Not big deal. I call and ask for prices, they don't have any. I work retail, what's the point of selling something if you can't give people a price? They don't call back either.
It's hard enough for retail businesses these days, and easy enough for customers to shop online. I don't mind paying more and buying here, but FFS give me some service for my money and I'll be yours for life.
Sounds like staying in business isn't a priority and dealing with customers is seen as being a pain.
I'm guessing they won't have to worry about the latter for too much longer.
I had the same experience with a larger chain store (so might have just been the staffer). But had decided 14 days before cape2cape I should get a new set of grips as my ODI oury non-lockons had been wearing and were moving around. No one had anything other than BB and other cheaper grips. Staffer said they could look to order them in but would take 2 weeks and gave me a guesstimate price and said they would call me later that day with firm price and delivery. But I never heard back from them.
I dont expect them to hold stock of all grips in all colours etc. and can understand the need for them to come from over east. But the service was crap and 2 weeks from sydney as opposed to 4 days from the UK with free postage.
I ordered them that night from wiggle (thursday) and some other stuff and they turned up on the Monday morning. They were about $10 cheaper too.
Yeah, not being born in Aus and spending a some time O/S, and especially away from Perth, you never quite get used to the constant shitty service here. Not just with bike shops, its everything.
Go for a coffee. You are treated like a scum-class criminal. Queue up, pay (a stupidly high price, and then watch the stupid confused look when I give $11 for a $6 purchase) in advance, stand around waiting for them to make it before they shout your name, find a table which is usually sticky as hell, try call someone over to wipe it down, if you can get someone they usually give you a shitty look and wipe the mess onto your lap, then clear your own table and leave.
That's why I avoid coffee shops and have a cup of tea.
That and I'm a typical pomme!
