Sydney bike thief caught on video
Just saw this video on youtube and thought it worth sharing given it is of a thief stealing someone's bike from Jones Bay Wharf, Pyrmont last Sunday

I know quite a few guys who work on that wharf. Have passed it on to them.
I can't believe a fellow bike rider would stoop that low. I hope he gets caught
I'd bet he wasn't a fellow bike rider at all rather using the perfect disguise. Hope he gets caught before his grubby fingers steals another bike
I'm not too sure about that Andy. He was quite stable with the other bike in tow.
Always imagined bike thieves to be drugged out unfortunates - this guy looks like a fellow cyclist - how could he do that? Hope he gets caught. He would prob frequent that area and hope his luck runs out
I wish I had a big stick that I could jam in his front wheel.
The only thing I would like to steel would be the key that locks up this thief!
So, any leads on the jersey then? Looks pretty recognizable...

Apparently there's been quite a few people who have positively identified this guy.
Not sure about disclosing any more info on a public forum until the fecker is caught and hung up by his plums! But let's hope the boys in blue do their job and get the guy his bike back.
any word on why it has gone "private"? I had assumed it was because the guy had already got his bike back.

My assumption would be that police fear a vigilante movement.
If the thief has been identified and the police now have all the evidence, it is now up to the police and our legal system to give the just deserves.
So any news on whether this guy's been caught. I'm pretty sure I know who this is now!!
He's a dead ringer for one of the couriers in the CBD. There's not too many people on bikes with beards like that.
The bearded folk tend to gravitate towards recumbents...

He's a nobmobber also, I thought it looked a bit like him when I saw the vid but he's the last bloke on earth that would steal a bike!
Ah good to hear. Also I would imagine the real thief has shaved his beard off by now, given all the publicity that video received.

and just for the record.... wasn't me. Haven't ridden a road bike in 30 years. ( or a recumbent.... or a fixie...)
