That's not a bike shop. THIS is a bike shop.
Following on from Phil Beresford's thread about the Tour Divide, I saw this little piece about where Jay Petervary works.
Not sure how much of it is scripted marketing spin, but the passion and commitment to customer service just seems to ooze out of the staff that speak on the clip in a way that looks to be genuine.
Compare that to the customer service culture that we have to endure here in Australia and the contrast is noticeable.

There are plenty of good bike shops and bike mechanics (both independent and operating through bike shops) in Sydney, including on the north side.
They are few and far between though rider
I know of a few that are awesome, but i also know of a lot that are just downright pathetic. Staff that look down their nose at you, staff that simply dont listen to you, staff that wont even get their heads out of their mobile phones to serve you, the list goes on.
Cool shop!
I must say the North American attitude to customer service is second to none. I have never received anything less than the most courteous, knowledgable and helpful assistance whether visiting, buying over the phone or online. The passion is there alright. They genuinely want to help you.
But yeah I can see where Hawkeye is coming from, it's a cultural thing here and not just bike shops particularly and it's nowhere near as bad as back in the UK, so count your blessings. I do know there are some fantastic guys in your LBS out there that will bend over to help you. However there's only one guy in particular I use for the jobs I can't and I won't let anyone else touch my bike. I follow him around from shop to shop. I don't care if I have to drive out of my way to get to him just because he's moved shop, I'll sit in horrid horrid traffic on the hell road to get my bike to him. It's worth it. He was also putting in some decent laps at Awaba the other weekend too
Phil you are not the only one - same here and I am sure I know who you are talking about.

I think this bloke deserves to be publicly named so we can send him a bit more business. Is that allowed on this site? Awesome service is ridiculously hard to find in this industry.
I'd love to name him and the shop, but he needs his ride time too.
All I can say is he's a fellow NoBMoBer and if he wants more work then he's more than welcome to chip in here and say so.
Bets are on Craig.
