"I hate all those weathermen, too, who tell you that rain is bad weather. There's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing, so get yourself a sexy raincoat and live a little."
-- Billy Connolly
Haha yeah but we also need to find time to strip our bike down clean it piece for piece clean the mud out of ya shuttle ute then fix the track to annihilated, I don't think Billy Connellys a mountain biker I

Maybe thats the answer
I hear ya
Good link and excellent area to practice skills, I just wondering if it’s something similar here in Sydney?
If everything's made out of timber it'd be alright outdoors as well, not the ideal bit of riding but would definitely be a good way to kill a rainy day!
I recon we need one in Brookvale ASAP
Not getting out has been crap for my mtb skills, but it seems to be getting worse. Spend so much time on the trainer I think I'll forget how to ride any bike.
What about all weather trails? In the UK they would laugh at you if you said you didn't ride when the trail was muddy or its raining.
Suggest wider tyres and mud guards and excellent quality wet weather grease/lube.
My mtb has spider webs on it from sitting still in the shed
Check out smh 28 days forecast. Rain on 24 of 28 days!!!
Xc is the wet is rad, I didn't spend much on my xc bike though so I'm not too fussy, riding wise downhill in the wet rules too, last years coffs state round where it started sprinkling just before our seeding run then by the time I got to my race run it was pissing down, that race run was the most fun I've had on a mtb, but they had a bus I didn't need to clean and as far as I know the tracks still recovering, if the forecast for this week comes through we should all be in the dirt next weekend!
I did a road ride last weekend (on mtb bike thats all I got) it was alright for the first 30 mins then
Got monotonous, one good thing to do is ride on the tops of gutters, you know that 4 inch flat bit. That can home in some skills, I'm sure I looked like a dick to all the passers by
not if you ride cycleways-there is always Joggers,Kids & Dogs to 2nd guess & dodge-fun fun fun!!!
Na the road cyclists fly past me & look at me weird
Na the road cyclists fly past me & look at me weird
Not many roadies out today at West Head.
Soft, I reckon
I've really really really been considering a rigid SS for wet weather riding.
I love riding through muck. Seriously - it's great! But not the cleaning afterwards... I'm researching a rigid SIR 9 frame currently. Should be great for blasting wet firetrails. (If any keen SS'ers want to PM me, I'd love to ask a few questions that google/youtube can't seem to answer me)
Won't wear out any slower, but much less hassle to clean the drive train.
Otherwise, buy a snorkel, face mask, as many kg of lead as you can muster and lets go visit Manly Dam

joggers and kids make it more exciting Robbie - not to mention the stupid traffic calming bars designed to break cyclists hands.
Psych the roadies out by smiling and waving/ ANd there's always the sand tracks when youre really up for it.
I would just smile and wave back if on my roadie.
I swing both ways.
Oh and I own a unicycle, does that mean I am a tri-cycle?
Na you got five wheels, that means your a Pentagon-cyclist, Penta-cycle
The more I ride my road bike, the more I ride my road bike! it's addictive and with all this rain I can keep the training up any time day or night, but looking forward to hitting the trails this weekend at wingello.
