There are a few smaller jumps at oxford falls that you can start out on and then progress to the bigger ones. They are all well built and have good landers.

Half the guys that ride there now aren't ready to ride there so one more won't hurt. Most people learn the features one at a time and ride around the ones that are beyond their capability. The hardest thing is to learn the limits of your capability & stick within that. Unlike the dam where features are more or less part of the journey from point A to B at Oxy the features are everything and it is important to stop look & think before you hit something.
BTW always pay respect to the builders & offer to help if you can. Good luck.

most drops there aren't much bigger apart from a couple. One of the biggest is now also rollable.

I suck at jumps but getting better. The key thing is ask for advice and get some people to help you learn.

Also be aware that the jumps change week to week. Normally bigger or more gappy. So don't be complacent just because you made it last week. Jumps and drops are generally signed on the track with a rating level.

The jumps at the Terry Hills BMX club aren't a bad idea either. They are all tabled with no gaps.

Ourimbah DH would be fine too. Sessioning the top is worthwhile with big table tops.

Join up the user group to see what's going on up there and to help out with a shovel.

Agree with Duncan about the features. It's not like MD where you ride a feature then wait for a while for the next one to show up. Most tracks as soon as you land the next feature or corner is on you.
