Hi,

Is anyone up for a ride of the GNR as a preparation for the dirtworks? I haven't done it before so I need someone to come along who knows where they are going. But I'm keen to do the 50km course. Probably a Sun morning in Feb would be a good time.

im definantley keen and havnt done it either, timing sounds good, maybe we can get another "big" biker so i dont slow every down too much? i will be doing the 50k too...

Up at Wisemans Ferry I believe.

Both the start and finish of the 50km loop traverse private property (and rather boring on its own)

Probably keen but not sure about doing the actual 50 course - can definitely show you around GNR and some of the other tracks and get at least 50 km of riding in.

Depends how quickly I can get back in the saddle after getting my cast off tomorrow - Feb should be fine, and we really need the training after 7 weeks off.

if at first you don't succeed, try not to look astonished.

Wow, thats quite far.......

Buck you keen?

You can probably make a nicer 50Km course than the actual race anyhow as you can turn round and do the fun part (from Western Commission track to Shepherds gully) twice Smiling

In fact - the 50Km course doesn't go anywhere near this goodness (which you will be thankful for on the day - trust me!)

Anyhow - I'll be in a GNR ride when my back feels better Sad

Count me in for some GNR action.

Gee, your 7 weeks off the bike just flew by, But MY 7 weeks just dragged on and on.
Good to hear your on the mend. Smiling
Cheers John.

I'd be up for a go
There's some pretty technical stuff in there too by the look of the pics?

Should be fun.

Alex's picture

do you mean that the 50k race course is boring? or u mean the trails without going through the private property bits and proper race course is boring?

kiwiboy's picture

for me it has seemed an e t e r n i t y . . . . .

and watching al those ride pics get posted and rides come and go - its a kind of masochism cruising this site when you are injured.

whereas my buddy busted his ealier in the year - seemed to be over pretty quickly I thought
Eye-wink

The 50km race course is boring (all just smooth fire trail or road) and you can not complete this loop with out crossing private property.

Alex's picture

oh really? so its only the 100k thats interesting?i might bail on this one then, so no single track, techy stuff?

So doing the 50km course it out. But I'm sure there must be others out there who want to have another bash up there???

Cmon rob you know you want to ride the GNR!
