Aaron Gwin wins Sea Otter DH on a 29er
Yep, I did the double-take too. But it's true. Apparently riding a Spesh S-works Enduro 29er.

Not a lot of huck-to-flat on this course, but an interesting result nonetheless.

Sea Otter isnt really a proper DH track. It has jumps and berms but no rock gardens and doesnt have the verticle that most DH tracks have.
Almost all the pros were on 27.5 or 29er short travel bikes.
Next WC race you will see them back on proper DH bikes. Quite a few will be on 27.5 DH wheels.
Put Gwin on any bike and he would win the way he has been riding the last couple of years!
Didn't 2nd place do it on a 27.5 also?
These kinda comments seem to pop up every other year after sea otter
Remember way back in 03 when "Mick Hannah wins Sea Otter DH on a Haro X6"
Geeze Flynny you're an old bugger
Something tells me these "comments" will be a around for a long time. And a couple of interesting points of view here
