Beginners ride this weekend
...in going for a beginners ride this weekend? Open to suggestions regarding location. I haven't done any riding since before Christmas and really need to build up my confidence again. Have done Manly Dam in the wet. If I go riding on my own, I do the fire trail near Terrey Hills, but I’m getting a bit bored with that. I can do Saturday or Sunday. Cheers, Anke

+1, any time except Sunday morning.
Hi Anke,
Shout out if you arrange this - GF and I might be up for something easy. Anytime Saturday. We might even be able to bring a couple of other newbies.
If you are bored of the Perimiter/Long track at Terrey Hills then Centre/Duck Holes loop is worth a look.Shorter, but more hills to challenge without anything technical to knock you off.
the trail you've suggested, Rob. I am good for Saturday morning. The earlier the better. Would be good to ride with a couple of newbies.
Let me know if that suits.
Cheers
Anke
Shall we do this then? Gentle (meaning, sloooow) ride from Terrey Hills shops round Duck Holes/Centre Track? Like this:

8:30 start? Will you put it in the calendar or shall I?
Could throw in Waratah Track into that mix too Rob? Its all graded and easy now.
Hmmmm... nice idea but don't think so... this is meant to be a gentle ride for some newbies.
Think we can pretty much guarantee when asked at the junction top of the bitumen climb most will not want more distance added.
Hmmmmm... both the forecast of rain and injuries are making me think twice about a ride this weekend. Grrrrr....
How keen is anyone else?
Rob, if you can get injury forecasts, be sure to let me know next time I'm due for one!
Ooops
Think there should have been a comma in that sentence. Meant to say the weather forecast is bad. Plus, I have injuries which make me less inclined to ride anything more than super flat fire trails right now.
Doh!
to take my son on. Unfortunately, he does not have a bike but I have a non-suspension (Malvern Star 9 speed !!!!) bike that I used to dawdle around the streets on. While we wont be making this ride, I wondered whether that bike would get him around the track or whether at least a front suspnsion bike was required ?
Thanks
Cheers
Doug
have some pedals your son can borrow my old giant.... i dont know where the pedals are that it came with though!!! and no! i am not swapping to cleats you lot for the dam!
MEEE
I have an old set sitting in my bike part box if you need some.
Bernd
I have some pedals at home so it would be great if I could borrow the Giant. I will give you a yell when I can work out a time to ride with my son...given the rain coming down at the moment it doesnt look like this weekend !
Also, Bernd thanks for the offer of the pedals....
Cheers
Doug
you will have to text or call on a weekend - i don't have a computer at home...
Or has it been canned?
Sorry, no ride meeting came of this, look in the calendar. That said, I notice there's a ride at Oxford Falls tomorrow morning:

Try this one - it doesn't sound too serious
